Rome is an amazing place. It’s so full of history, and architecture, and art. We walked and bussed and saw so much in the past three days! Our first day was spent mostly at the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum:
The Vatican Museum was incredibly beautiful, and I got to see the Raphael Rooms, some Caravaggio paintings, and the Sistine Chapel ceiling! The shear amount of religious art astounded me.
Right next to the Vatican Museum is Saint Peter’s Basilica, an enormous church built over the apostle Peter’s grave. The rest of our second day in Rome included gelato, tracking down more Caravaggio paintings, and checking out the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain!
Our final day was spent exploring Trastevere. Thanks to our architecture guide of a roommate, it was fun to see the old streets, buildings, and city walls still being used!
Lastly, a big thank you to Mackenzie & Kaylie for sharing their favorite places in Rome – Frigidarium is my favorite gelato place to date!
