Design Week: Milan

SalonSatellite2016

Katie and I went to Milan for the day! We are taking a product design class this semester, and our professor told us we had to check out the Salone del Mobile – an international furniture fair held annually during Design Week at the Fiera di Milano in Rho.

Our professor was right, it was definitely worth the trip! It was so cool to see new products by designers we’ve learned about. I also really enjoyed the Salon Satellite exhibition, “New Materials, New Design,” an exhibition for promising young designers under 35 to show their prototypes and make deals with manufacturers and talent scouts.

Honestly, we spent the whole time wandering around trying out furniture, taking photos, and repeatedly saying “That is so cool!” or “Such a good idea!” The amount of clever, unique objects we saw today overwhelmed and inspired me. Here are a few!
